Today JWT Canada announced two new exciting hires for the executive creative team tapping Ryan Spelliscy as Senior Vice President, Creative Director and Carolyn Bingham as the newly created role of Vice President, Creative Operations. They mark the first major hires by Brent Choi, Chief Creative and Integration Officer, since his appointment in January.
Spelliscy joins from Sid Lee Toronto where he was formerly the Co-Creative Director. His work has won numerous awards including One Show Pencils and a Titanium Lion for Hyundai Assurance—a campaign Fast Company regarded as one of the most memorable of the modern era.
Returning to JWT Canada after serving as Group Account Director for Coca-Cola Sparkling, Still and Juices at Zulu Alpha Kilo, Bingham will lead creative services, broadcast production, traffic and print production. Carolyn previously worked at JWT Canada for nine years, where she rose to the role of Vice President, Group Account Director on the Nestle (Confectionery and Ice Cream), Canada Bread, Diageo and Kellogg’s accounts.
Choi commented on the announcement stating, “They say to hire people better than yourself. Ryan has been a superstar everywhere he’s been. His experiences touch every medium and every award show. And Carolyn knows that our success begins and ends with the quality of our work. She is relentless in her drive to bring great work to life.”
Having known and respected Choi and his work for a long time, Spelliscy adds, “The potential of JWT Canada is unlimited with great clients and great leadership. I’m excited to see where all of us can take it.”
New talent like Spelliscy and Bingham are key to JWT Canada furthering itself as one of the country’s leading agencies and we are expecting to see great work from the duo. Choi expects more stellar creatives to join the JWT Canada team in the near future.
