Chief Creative Talent Officer / J. Walter Thompson Worldwide
Maria Gianoutsos is J. Walter Thompson Company’s Chief Creative Talent Officer. A C-suite creative business strategist with global experience, Gianoutsos specializes in human capital, believing it has the power to increase the value of a brand and ensure commercial success.
Gianoutsos joined J. Walter Thompson from The Talent Business (TTB), a world leader in executive search for creative businesses. In her six years as TTB’s North America Managing Director and member of its Global Operating Board, Gianoutsos had complete oversight of TTB’s business in the region, including hiring and training a core team and managing all senior client relationships. She was also responsible for working with the leadership team across TTB’s network to establish a global strategy for clients and for talent. Her leadership helped reposition the company as a trusted industry authority on talent and brand management.
Gianoutsos is no stranger to the ad industry. Prior to TTB, Gianoutsos acted as the CEO’s Senior Executive Recruiter/Partner at ML Search Partners, an executive search firm. There she oversaw all aspects of the talent search process, developed the recruitment strategy for clients and established a new business initiative focused on advertising and branding.
Over the course of her career, she spent six years at Ogilvy & Mather and also spent two years at J. Walter Thompson’s New York headquarters as the Senior Vice President, Group Account Director.
Gianoutsos graduated with Honors from the University of Sydney in Sydney, Australia, with a B.A. in Fine Arts.
